Ajay Kumar is the Founder & Director of our organization and leads the entire operational and technical Dept. For last seven years, he has been involved working on research & development on green energy. He worked as SBI-Youth For India Fellow in Rural Bihar with Aga Khan Rural Support Program (India) where he worked on the different green energy project. After then he has joined as Indian Fellow where he worked with Mera Gao Power on research development of solar smart grids.
After Graduation, Ajay was associated with NCC and NSS and organized various activities- plantation, blood donation camp, street plays on social issues and going to tribal areas aware them about new things related their welfare and rights. He has done research on solar thin films & fly ashes and presented 20 papers at different National and International conferences. His Recent research article http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0749603616300775 ).
Post his graduation, he joined SBI Youth for India Fellowship and worked as SBI Youth for India Fellow in rural Bihar Muzaffarpur District with Aga Khan Rural Support Program (India) on green energy. He found that many villages in nearby areas were not electrified and people were still living in dark and using kerosene lamps. He decided to do something for them and designed decentralized solar lighting. He faced a big challenge in mobilizing the community towards solar energy as people were not aware of it. They usually asked how solar can charge a mobile phone or light a bulb. Binding the whole village so that they have felt ownership towards this whole setup was another challenge. This project was finally installed successfully in villages with help and ownership of villagers. Mainly women and children are happier as they have to suffer during the evening while study and doing household works. During this one year, Ajay learnt a lot from the community who showered him with love, kindness, and brotherhood (Article on his work-http://www.rediff.com/business/report/pix-special-how-ajay-kumar-and-somil-daga-transformed-this-bihar-village/20150605.htm). After this he also worked as India Fellow with Mera Gao Power, Kanpur, UP with research and innovation team on solar smart grids for designing online grid monitoring system, household prepaid box.
